Tom and Perri are the perfect New York couple. Despite his love for Perri, Tom is growing disillusioned and wants to move back to the South where he imagines a simpler way of living; away from the stress and callousness of the big city. Their world is turned upside down when Tom's beloved golden retriever is killed by a hit and run driver while Perri is walking her. An enraged Tom forces Perri to remember every detail and find the driver, Marquet. In a scheme using Perri as unwilling sexual bait, Tom gets Marquet drunk, pushes him out of the car and leaves him in the middle of the road. Pleased by his revenge, Tom is shocked to later find that Marquet was seriously injured and decides to flee the city. Things unravel further as the police get closer to the truth and Marquet's wife learns that her husband was cheating. Tom is finally forced to face his crime, but learns that telling the truth isn't always the way to go. What's a little infidelity, hypocrisy, and murder among friends?
